Paper Story v1.6.2.1


Now that some time has passed and the last version has had a chance to settle, I've compiled all the errors that have come up and pushed them into 1.6.2.1 - as well as some other things that have cropped up over the past month.

As far as big picture stuff goes, the main set of changes relate to SP generation, sharing SP with your allies and spending SP on Exceptional Techniques. In short:

  • SP generation is capped at a fairly generous 10 SP per round; even once you hit your cap you're still able to make use of Exceptional Techniques.
  • You can share at most 5 SP at a time, whenever an ally would spend SP; to be clear this is spent immediately, and doesn't go into their pool.
  • Improvised Techniques no longer stack [X] traits based on SP spent, but to encourage teamwork, you can use extra Tech Defaults from contributing allies.

This is a bit of a slapdash fix and I know it won't go over perfectly with all groups and power levels, so feel free to play around with it and see what works best for your group. I didn't want to do anything too extreme here, that's more the territory of a future 1.7.

Otherwise it's mostly just getting things tidy and trying to get the formatting consistent (and, hopefully, fixing the font). Unless something  truly spectacular needs fixing, I don't foresee this changing until I have enough material to pull together a big 1.7 update - whether that's overhauling Terrain, rebalancing Badge costs, tinkering with Power-Ups or something else like that I can't possibly imagine. I'm keen to put Paper Story down for a bit, maybe work on getting another project published, and finally get a copy printed for my own shelf.
